I am a fan of the original TV show and also a fan of Henry Cavill and Guy Ritchie. I have been looking forward to this movie for quite some time and am pleased to report that it was as good as I had hoped it would be.

I prefer being entertained at the cinema rather than being shocked. I like leaving the theater refreshed rather than depressed. This movie was perfect for me. It was fun and witty. There was no inappropriate language or gratuitous sex (only what you see in the trailer). The only disturbing (very brief) scene helped establish the villains as evil and fanatic.

This movie pays homage to the decade of my youth and brought back memories of the history and style of the times but will still be enjoyable to the younger audience who are not familiar with said history, style, or TV show.

I think Henry Cavill is a talented actor, and I found his performance excellent. It was his job to establish Napoleon Solo as a suave and lighthearted cad who is nevertheless an intelligent and capable crook turned CIA agent. He got the job done! This movie certainly shows he can play a variety of roles. Armie Hammer is so funny in "Mirror, Mirror" that his performance as a dedicated and austere career spy was a delightful surprise. Hugh Grant and his brand of humor really added to the movie. Alisha and Elizabeth are great in their roles and play them with relish.

I loved the retro spy gadgets. Certainly enough action to satisfy me. Too many funny scenes to name them all or without spoiling. Just go watch the movie and see for yourself. Enjoy!

Set in the Ottoman province of Hijaz, in 1916, around the time of WWI. Really?? The only suggestion to a world war is when the foreigner says "we are in a war". Hussein (Hussein Salameh) and Theeb (Jacir Eid) are from a family of pilgrim guides. The arrival of the train now helps pilgrims reach Mecca ruining their chief source of income. When a Englishman comes to their clan's camp with a desert guide, rules of Bedouin hospitality force the family to send someone(Hussein) with two men to their destination, Theeb joins. It is a engrossing adventure tale of a young boy forced to grow up and survive in a desert full of bandits, untrustworthy adults. You immerse into the story and it feels like you are watching the adventure live in the desert from start to end thanks to the direction that shows the entire journey from Theeb's point-of-view, our curiosity matches that of Theeb, who heads out to follow his brother and the mysterious British officer. Events are surprising and gripping and take you in the opposite direction of what you are expecting. The stunning scenery and cinematography that helps suggests emotional state, struggles and coming-of-age of Theeb supported by a heart stopping score make this film a benchmark. This is a Must-watch one of a kind road journey where you root for Theeb as he looks for his road in the unending desert.

Its been long since I dumped the Smallville as it became awful somewhere from season 7 or 8. It had an Oliver Queen too. Now, this guy from"Arrow" as Oliver is aggressive and passionate about what he is doing. The story begins somewhat in a usual manner but then moving with nice pace of twists and revelations. It could be boring if you think too much about it, but for a regular viewer looking for just fresh "superhero without superpower" entertainment, you have a winner here. True, any other character except Oliver is not detailed, they are just out of the box, but the real character is not them, hence its understandable. Acting is a vital point here, Stephen Amell does a real fine job characterizing the Green Arrow. Paul Blackthorne is great as a cop. Other characters such as Colon Donnel, Susana Thompson are doing nice too. Its a nice superhero series, you will love it as I do too. I give it a 9/10 for the nice time pass. Cheers.

While Spectre is not a terrible film (not one of the better ones in the series), it is very annoying to see how easy it was to bribe the 'professional' film reviewers into falling over themselves to praise this product-placement vehicle.

The film contains the usual excellent stunts, but lacks any plot, continuity, or acting worthy of such a description. It's about as close to a Fleming story as Die Hard.

It's sad to see how this British staple has been so easily destroyed by greed. A lot of people are being paid off, and I only hope audiences don't fall for the hype. It really isn't worth going to see. If you like Bond and Daniel Craig, get a copy of Casino Royal - his only decent outing (and interestingly an actual Fleming book, not the work of 3/4 conflicting writers).

A movie that's as stunning and as majestic and as spellbinding as mount Everest itself. Even for many of us who've never been to Nepal, just the fact that Everest is the world's highest mountain requires us to respect it from afar. And I think that's what this film by director Baltasar Kormakur has accomplished, it respects the story, it respects the nature and it respects the memories of the lives lost during that tragic 1996 expedition.

Baltasar is an Icelandic filmmaker who knows how to shoot a film in such an environment where the weather can be unpredictable and it can go against you at anytime. He didn't want all of this movie to be shot entirely in a studio, this is not entirely visual effects work, they actually went to Nepal and some of the other locations include Val Senales, Italy. It's out there in the elements, outdoors locations that force even the actors themselves to leave their trailer comfort zone behind. And that is evident on screen, it really shows, because every single frame successfully makes us the audience feel like we're there, we feel the danger, as if we're there climbing the mountain, feeling the pain that comes with excruciating cold because human bodies aren't design to survive such temperature. I think the timing of the arrival of this movie could not have been more perfect. If EVEREST was made a decade or fifteen years ago, for example, when filmmaking technology and the cameras weren't as advanced, I'm not sure if it could've given us a movie-watching experience of this quality. This is not a heist thriller ala 1993's "Cliffhanger," this is an epic survival drama.

Many of us are familiar with Jon Krakauer's book, "Into Thin Air" since he himself was one of the climbers, but this movie is not an adaptation, because it's also loosely inspired by other accounts, other books about that same expedition, so in a way, what the scribes William Nicholson and also Simon Beauty and filmmaker Baltasar gave us is a reimagining but one that captures the essence and I think that's what the actors themselves aimed to do. Josh Brolin, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Jason Clarke, all of them play these real characters that have families, some may have personal issues, and so the backstory or who's waiting for them on the other side of the world serve as an emotional anchor and a driving force. But you only get a glimpse of it, the script doesn't spend too much time in every last one of them, there are too many grounds to cover, so it provides just enough and then brings the attention back to this whole man vs. nature, this ordeal at hand, all over again, just like one of the characters says in the movie, "The last word belongs to the mountain." EVEREST movie does make me wonder why anyone would want to climb mount everest, but it's basically the same as asking ourselves why we do certain things, why we choose to attempt to conquer certain goals, whatever they may be, whether it's the need to inspire and be inspired, whether it's trying to escape our problems, whether it's the love of the climb, EVEREST goes to show that that desire could be both prideful and humbling.

When Mom and I decided to go to the movies last night I thought we might to go "The Walk". Instead we saw "Pan". To get me ready we watched "Hook", and few other earlier "Peter Pan" movies. I didn't understand why they needed to make a new one but this story was different. The other "Peter Pan" movies deal with The Darling family. This one featured Peter.

The movie started out with Peter as a baby then moved into his transition of becoming an enchanted boy who could fly. Usually the bad guy in these movies was "Captain Hook" but in this movie Garrett Hedlund played Hook and trust me he was not bad at all. Rooney Mara was great as "Tiger Lilly." Hugh Jackman played "Blackbeard". I am not used to seeing him looking that ugly but he was good. Levi Miller did a great job as "Peter Pan". When you see these movies you don't realized that the actors are not reacting to anything initially. All of the creatures are put in later.

THe special effects were beautiful. I loved all of the fairies. I also loved how the movie moved from an cold, sad London of WW2 to Neverland. It was great.

This movie is rated PG and has a good story so if you want to take your family out for a cinematic treat this weekend. I think "Pan" would be a good choice!
